The Mother of all Days

Mother's Day 2010. This is the first time we have been around family. My husband invited my Mom, Sister, and his Mom to our house on Saturday. His two sisters were invited as well, but they had plans with their families. He was being very mysterious and made sure I had no idea what was about to happen. All of the families arrived and about noon he hands us each a card. We all open it and are told that we are about to embark on a Mother's Day adventure. We were given instructions to go to 4 places at a certain time. We were only given the times and addresses. He then tells us to pack and go. The first place led us to a one hour massage. While my Mom and I got one, Pat and Amber were told to go to Starbucks and given a gift card. Then we switched with the next hour. Our next place was a hotel that had an amazing view of the river. Finally we went to a seafood buffet where we got to spend time with the husbands and kiddos. We ended the night with the girls going shopping, more coffee, and then back to the hotel. I got to sleep through the night for the first time in a long time. The next morning my sister and I got to swim in the heated pool and enjoy the jacuzzi for about 2 hours. We also ate a breakfast buffet. One more coffee at Starbucks later, and we were on our way home again rested and relaxed. It was an amazing weekend. I am so thankful for my fabulous husband who put so much thought and effort into our weekend.
